RED ROOSTER FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES FIRST WAVE OF ARTISTS FOR 10TH ANNIVERSARY

BROWN HORSE, THE DIRTY STRANGERS, ROSCO SHAKES, DYLAN WALSHE

Celebrating Blues, Rock ‘n’ Roll, Roots & Country, Red Rooster brings you a contemporary Country & Blues festival, embracing the sights, sounds and flavours of the Deep South – music, food, drink and good old East Anglian hospitality.

When Red Rooster festival returns for its 10th anniversary next year it will host the final ever Asleep At The Wheel UK festival show as part of AATW’s “Happy Trails” Tour. To mark this special occasion AATW will be joined by Red Rooster favourites Brennen Leigh and Joshua Hedley.

Asleep at The Wheel has been part of the American roots’ music landscape for more than 50 years. Although the band got its start on a farm in Paw Paw, West Virginia, asleep at the wheel became a cornerstone of the Austin, Texas scene upon its arrival in 1973. Inspired by western swing and honky-tonk country, the band has accrued 10 Grammy awards. Ray Benson carries the band back onto the road, where they’ve remained a staple for five decades

69 years-young rising star Robert Finley returns with a Dan Auerbach-produced album – a swaggering tour de force of blues, soul, and funk, sharing stories from the swamps of Louisiana.

He releases his anticipated fourth studio album Black Bayou, an 11-track tour de force that coalesces gospel, blues, soul, and rock into a raw, thundering tribute to Finley’s home state of Louisiana. Telling tales of the bayou from childhood to now, Finley takes listeners on a journey that showcases his growly vocals, sultry falsetto and cements him as a living legend.

“Black Bayou is definitive Robert Finley—a master musician and entertainer—taking all his bluesy swagger up a notch, a bigger sound with heavier grooves, full confirmation that Robert Finley only gets better with time.” Spin Magazine

Witnessing Bob Log live is an unmissable and unforgettable experience. By rights he should be a punk blues stadium super star. He takes to the stage with his face masked in a crash helmet with a black visor and a telephone wired in it for a mic and wearing a blue jump suit. Bob then unleashes a torrent of hardcore Mississippi Delta blues, hip hop beats and punk rock. The crash helmet telephone distorts the vocals and his hands, arms, legs and feet become a blur of jump suit clad limbs as he plays slide, triggers drum machines and drums with his feet simultaneously. Bob then adds extra ingredients to this punk blues bouillabaisse with his unique version of audience participation. More often them not he’ll bounce a couple of audience members on his knees while playing and take a trip across the audience’s hands in a rubber dingy!

Kitty Liv has fired up music lovers around the globe from a very early age, co-fronting family band ‘Kitty, Daisy & Lewis’ selling overa quarter of a million records. The band toured the world numerous times, gaining fans by the likes of Amy Winehouse, Mark Ronson and Coldplay.

She is now gearing up to storm an even broader fan base with a solo album project that marks a completely different direction for her. As a songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist, Kitty is resonating with a more expansive set of her influences, from Erykah Badu and D’Angelo to Al Green and blues legend Howlin’ Wolf, to produce a body of personal songs that evoke the primal depths of Soul, Gospel blues & Rock and Roll.

Brown Horse are a Norwich-based country rock band. Rooted in a collaborative approach to songwriting, the six-piece mix guitar-driven 90s alternative rock with the folk and country sounds of the 70s. Reservoir is the debut album from Brown Horse. Although recorded over just four days in a quiet corner of Norfolk, the album is a collaborative effort years in the making.

The Dirty Strangers are an English Rock’n’roll band carrying a torch for rootsy Rock’n’roll as invented by Eddie Cochran, Gene Vincent & Chuck Berry. Laced with a little bit of Otis Redding Soul and a side order of Punk attitude. It’s arresting & Seductive. Its Dirty Rock’n’roll, & you’ll like it.

From their roots playing jump blues and early swing, Rosco Shakes have evolved into a live powerhouse, melding a wide range of related genres with traditional styles to produce a unique brand of Blues music. Having cut their teeth playing London’s honky tonk pubs, before hitting the late-night festival circuit, Rosco Shakes are now taking their show to a wider audience to deliver their music with an irreverent showmanship that has come to define their live performances. Expect big blues with lashings of Americana, country, funk and soul.

Known for his impassioned & engaging live performances, Dylan Walshe was born & raised on the southeast coast of Dublin, Ireland. Dylan went on to hone his craft as a solo acoustic performer in London, then Europe, before eventually moving to Nashville, Tennessee. Currently residing in the southern highlands of Black Mountain, North Carolina, Dylan has been billed alongside many pioneers in music, as well as headlining tours around much of the US, Europe & the UK. All Manner Of Ways, Dylan’s album of original compositions, features James Fearnley (The Pogues), Andy Gibson (Hank III), Micah Hulscher (Emmylou Harris) & John Mailander (Bruce Hornsby).
