Black Deer Festival are excited to be revealing the first artists confirmed for their 2022 line-up with some of the biggest names in live music, including the Belfast Cowboy Van Morrison, Wilco’s only UK show of 2022 and legends The Waterboys -with many more announcements still to come.

Other big names include Grammy award-winning Americana icon Lucinda Williams, roots heroes Drive-By Truckers, Irish superstar songwriter Foy Vance and returning festival favourites The Dead South.

It has been a challenging two years for the independent festival, but organisers are excited to finally be able to welcome ticket holders to Eridge Park from 17th-19th June 2022 for what promises to be the biggest & best weekend of Americana the UK has seen.

In 2020 the festival organisers were left with no option but to roll over until the following year and were again devastated when the 2021 event was recently cancelled just days before they were due to open their gates. Despite two cancellations, the festival has been widely supported by the UK’s media and with an overwhelming sense of community behind them, the Black Deer team are even more fired up and raring to go for next year’s event.

Showcasing music of an independent spirit across multiple stages, exquisite live-fire cooking, layers of custom motorcycle culture and a curated marketplace of artisans and makers, the award-winning Black Deer is a family destination festival with a community ethos.

Also joining the 2022 line-up are The Milk Carton Kids, The Felice Brothers, The London African Gospel Choir interpreting Paul Simon’s Graceland, The Secret Sisters, Irish Mythen, Kitty, Daisy and Lewis, John Smith, Talisk, Emily Barker, Caroline Spence, and Amy Montgomery – with many more artists still to be confirmed.

Alongside a stellar musical program, the festival is excited to be welcoming back a highly anticipated line-up of Live Fire chefs who will be cooking up a storm in the Live Fire Arena thanks to the skills of Grillstock founders Jon Finch and Ben Merrington.

Chefs announced include CountryWoodSmoke’s Marcus Bawdon, Hunter Gatherer Cook’s Nick Weston, Hang Fire Southern Kitchen’s Sam Evans & Shauna Guinn, and chef and acclaimed best-selling author Genevieve Taylor with many more yet to be announced.

In 2021 Black Deer Festival was proud to be gifting 1500 tickets to NHS and key workers as a gesture of gratitude and thanks for the incredible work and sacrifice made by so many during the pandemic, with many of the Black Deer team having been personally impacted by their care. The initiative will roll over to 2022 with a commitment to welcome 1500 NHS and key workers as guests to the festival.
