It’s fair to say that 2000trees was one of, it not the, favourite festival that we visited last year. This is not only due to its great location, organisation and weather (which lets be honest helps!) BUT mainly due to the brilliant acts that it had performing. It had a great mix of some favourite established acts but also a few surprises. You can read our review of the festival here (https://thesoulofaclown.com/2014/07/19/2000-trees-festival-2014/)
We were therefore delighted to hear the details of this years festival which promises to be very special again. Full details below but with the likes of Deaf Havana, The Computers and Rob Lynch already confirmed you can bet that we will be seeing you there!
Deaf Havana to headline 2000trees Festival
The best place to discover your new favourite band
9-11 July 2015
Upcote Farm, near Cheltenham, GLOS. GL54 4BL
Alt-rock heroes Deaf Havana will headline the 2000trees Festival main stage this summer.
Kerbdog, Pulled Apart By Horses and Arcane Roots are also confirmed in the first line-up announcement of the year from the multi-award-winning festival, along with The Computers, Rob Lynch, Big Sixes, Allusondrugs, Nothing But Thieves and &U&I.
Gloucestershire’s own SOLEMN SUN, The Cadbury Sisters and Thrill Collins are set to play, along with Milk Teeth, The St. Pierre Snake Invasion, Bridges, Lonely Tourist and Rozelle.
Deaf Havana have released two critically-acclaimed major label albums, supported Bruce Springsteen and Muse, completed a plethora of sold out headline tours and played numerous high profile mainstream festivals.
Lead guitarist Chris Pennells says the band are really excited to headline the main stage:
“2000 trees is a festival we’ve always looked forward to one day playing, due to its solid line-ups of great British rock bands. It’s great that our pals Big Sixes will be there and we’re looking forward to The Computers and Rob Lynch too”
Tickets are now on sale at last year’s prices until midnight tomorrow (Sun, Feb 1st) and are available at http://www.twothousandtreesfestival.co.uk/tickets
2000trees organiser James Scarlett, who books the line-up, said: “We were determined to hit the ground running with big band news as soon as tickets go on sale, so we are delighted to announce these great acts that we’re sure our festival fans will love.
“We firmly believe small, independent festivals are better and our pre-Christmas ticket sales back that up, so all the signs are pointing to another sell out year in record time.”
2000trees has established itself as one of the leading small festivals in the British summer calendar, winning four national awards and limiting capacity to 5,000 to ensure it remains a fun, friendly, grass roots event.
It features the very best new and underground music on six stages, plus comedy, DJs, a silent disco, quality food and drink and children’s entertainment.
The three-day event will celebrate its ninth year in the picturesque Cotswolds when it returns on July 9-11.
